Eagles drummer/vocalist Don Henley is arrested in Los Angeles after paramedics treat a nude sixteen year-old girl suffering from drug intoxication at his home. Henley is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, cocaine and Quaaludes and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

At Yoko Ono's request, at 2 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, John Lennon fans around the world mourn him with ten minutes of silent prayer. In New York over 100,000 people converge in Central Park in tribute and in Liverpool, a crowd of 30,000 gatherers outside of St. George's Hall on Lime Street.
